Description

Rent a bike for the excursion

Tour through dunes and coastal pine forests until the mouth of “Bellocchio”, one of the most famous places of the Comacchio Valleys and natural reserve. Its mouth still houses the traditional fishing workhouse where we will be able to relive eel fishing techniques, as well as observe hundreds of species of aquatic birds. The view on the valleys at the sunset is a must-see. The starting point is the Marina harbour in Lido Estensi where we ride the path until Lido Spina. Then we reach the last bathing establishment with a stop to admire the long wild beach and the landscape. We continue our tour on the cycle path in the pine forest, between the salty lake and the natural reserve recognised by UNESCO (Heritage and Mab Unesco). After taking pictures and admiring the landscape we reach Bellocchio station and the new cycle path, defined by media as one of the most beautiful of Italy. We get to one fishing station of Po Delta Park, called “Bellocchio”, where eels have been fished for ages. Here we can see the “lavoriero”, an important artifact for fishing in the lagoon. We will continue with a panoramic tour on the new embankment that crosses the valleys and then return to the starting point.
